TLT duration is closed to 20 years. Unless there is QE or QT the fed doesn't control the long rate. if TLT or 30 year prices are going up, the market likely is pointing to severe recession ahead. Fed is always reactive and they only directly controls fed fund rates (short term). long bonds are controlled mostly by economic activities so @rureal does have a point as TLT going up does signal some sluggish economic activities ahead.
