肯定是超前消费,年收入2个加起来好像是23万。
虽说是生活必需品,,但说实在 他们平时生活习惯也太浪费了。比如肉类,打折时不多囤点,我在店里看到人买鸡柳和牛扒,明明店里时不时的打折,非要买在实打实的价格,还一买好几盒。 再举个例子,包菜一颗整卖0.69左右一磅,盒装4.99一磅,可人家就是要买盒装,同样的,一买好几盒。 到家我都在感叹,跟队友说,貌似整个店里就咱家在打折时囤货,通膨根本不影响别人家的生活。
老美的生活习惯就是这样的,我有两个女性朋友都嫁给了本地老美,男的都可算是节俭之人,平时不买奢侈品不讲究吃穿,穿的衣服都是开会发的各种LOGO的白T。但是,去grocery买东西从来不看价格,如果去买牛奶,就拿起看到的第一盒,从来不比价。并且对于老婆要去costco买东西极度鄙视,说要支持本地商店。每次让他去买个什么东西都能把老婆气死。
算起来我房贷五十几万,车贷好几万,除了没有学贷,总贷款不遑多让。关键还是看资产,指不定人家小夫妻拿着几个m的股票呢

说的太对了,又笨又自大,回国看到国内的人有多努力的生活,回来就看到那些糟心的人和事才发现这个当初心中的美国早就不是自己想象的样子了
不是“老美”这样。是穷人这样。上学的时候去Kmart,在更衣室里旁边有人在跟她女儿说, 等妈妈下周拿到了paycheck,就给你买。 "老美"这个叫法是一个很大的generalization,好几亿人呢,有很富的也有很穷的。

估计是几张上总和欠债, 这个好可怕,信用卡不及时付得产生多高的利息啊 。。
还见过买一送一的,只买一盒,但是也听到有的人去迪斯尼玩,去找gift card deal,为了省10%。不过感觉大部分美国人不那么考虑省钱。
每代人,或者每个人的消费观念也不都一样。我有白人同事,说她grandparents很节约,恨不得一分钱掰成两半花,她们也很无奈。
我以前有个Babysitter,是借了很多学贷的在读研究生,穷的只能租黑人区的房子,吃肉要等超市打折买最便宜的鸡肉,就这样还要连夜排队去买最新款的Iphone,在她看来最新款Iphone才是必需品,吃肉不是。

美国人真是这样啊,我都是看到那里超市打折就去买打折的囤起来。我观察到一般在美国超市里买打折肉啥的当然也有多数是那种退休老人,我想上班的一来忙加上在赚钱他们就不会精打细算。我邻居双职工赚的不少但是买东西从来都是直接去最近的店买原价的。我朋友老公老美她一直抱怨虽然做老板赚的不错但是花钱从不对比,装修房子找贵的也不怎么问价钱那种,买东西也都要买好的。她说赚10$花9$,我劝她还好啊赚的多花的多也享受到了。我看老美赚的少一样也花光的。以前去店里看老美不看价钱买不打折的东西觉得那些人一定挺有钱的吧,现在知道根本不是呢,有一次看到一美国女买了好多吃的(这个美国超市东西不打折时挺贵的)结果付钱时用的食品券,不是说看低人家永食品券,如果是我买打折的吃的话省下不少那食品券还能多用几次了。很多美国人消费习惯就是随便花,不会有我们亚洲人积少成多的观念吧。

为什么买grocery一定要看价格,人家可能就一直买那种牛奶。
是的,每一代人不一样,我老公奶奶那种zip bag还洗洗用用,也非常注意recycle,不知道老美新一代这些浪费的习惯是怎么养成的。我觉得他们有些人以浪费为荣,我们还是以浪费为耻。

理解用食品券的人买东西不看价格。 我这儿Walmart的牛扒价格从来不低,看到好几次老墨买牛扒不手软,后面跟几个孩子,购物车里从来都是堆满的。
