可能我没有说清楚。 The Giver系列是回答后面一个MM的时候提到的。 并不是建议给9年级孩子的。 Lois Lowry 的 Willoughbys 和 On the Horizon 都是十岁就可以看了。 前者9岁肯定可以读。 On the Horizon 说珍珠港和广岛的， 绝对是让人深思的作品， 稍微有点沉重。 如果你家孩子可以接受对战争这种话题进行深入讨论的话就可以让他读。
知识性的书你可以试试Kate MESSNER的HISTORY SMASHER系列。
Staub Gibbs 还有一套动物的系列。 也好看， 很多探案推理的内容。 比Spy School多一些环保内容。
要是硬要哲理的， 理解人生的， 那强推Lois Lowry的书。 注意她的书有的是YA， 你儿子应该还是MG的年纪。 YA的话有些大一点的孩子才可以接受的内容。

说到阅读，我也想问问大家，小孩喜欢读书 词汇也不错 可是好像考试reading comprehension 和writing并不怎么样。writing是我看他写的essay 其实蛮一般的，reading comprehension 是考试 isee和私校入学考试的成绩看出来的。我管的不多 感觉不知道怎么帮他提高。
是的 一样一样！有时候就是懒得跑去图书馆 特别是pandemic的影响 看惯了新书 不过确实太费了 没地方放 只能说以后妹妹接着看

Spy school 系列是属于偏fantasy world，酣畅淋漓，也是男女应该都会喜欢的书。
Lois Lowry 的The giver 四部曲可能要比较喜欢思考和提炼人生的孩子会喜欢。 这套即使大人看了也会回头重新思考良多。要是你喜欢1984， 那你应该也会喜欢Lois Lowry的大部分作品。
她的The Willoughbys 也是男女都会喜欢， 被Netflix 买下改成电影了。
