我觉得应该直接说 I’m really proud of you xxx. I’m glad I had the opportunity to coach you through this project and see you succeed. You put in tremendous amount of effort to bring this project to live. Huge shout out to your hard work and congrats on your accomplishments. 😜

嗯,跟老板提一下就可以了。让该知道的人悄不生息知道就行了,不需要知道的人不用知道,尤其这当事人。
我各人认为做事前先确定你做此事的目的。 如果你当时做导师的目的是为自己光荣,那么我劝您别做。 但如果你做导师的目的是传下你的知识,那么你应该帮你的学生一把。
我是本地州立大学的一个adjunct教授。 我主要的工作是某医院的药科科长。我不是说你应该让学生不要脸的剥皮,而是我觉得帮助/荣让你的学生研究和发明论文的名声。 如果学生真有才华也努力做研究,做导师的应该肯让他/她做first author。
总结: 做人要厚道。 做导师的不应该用自己的位置和权力拿credits. 同时在教导下一代和希望能继承我们位子的后代人时给直正的人建立机会。 因为他/她们的成功也是你能回头看见而微笑的成就和光荣。

documentation还是需要的,发个措辞温和一点的邮件记录一下自己的effort,回头跟老板提的时候也有理有据啊。至于怎么写后面有层主给出了不错的例子
和自己老板1:1 quarterly review之类提一下自己带了新人就可以了 没必要大张旗鼓 大多数不相干的人根本不care 你的直属上司知道你出力了就可以了
我上午帮了人,下午就避开任何会照面的机会
过了今天就没事了
