北大纽约校友会和99 Hudson沆瀣一气了?????????

在纽约附近看过房,基本上都知道99 Hudson,版上也讨论过好几次。
宣传里是说“NJ第一高楼”,但后来很多人私下说:这是中国developer伙同华裔agents坑骗在美华人的代表作,而且是个给国内投资人拿EB5的项目。这楼从2016年开始卖,至今没卖出一半。
肯定有业主会来反驳,说这楼怎么怎么不错。但是,自从建完开始过户,就不断有业主提起诉讼,告99 Hudson地产商很多方面,比如:1. 实际面积比纸面写的小了14%-20%,2. 装修时打开dry wall,在里面发现了装尿的塑料瓶子,3. 窗子质量太差,甚至可能会掉, 4. 车库有漏水,有些units墙和顶有裂缝
昨天刷到个英文帖子,没想到把北大校友会和99 Hudson扯到一起,剧情让人大开眼界!看热闹不嫌事大,转过来给大家一起看。Summary就是:借着过节期间,北大校友会办聚会,收$70每人,没想到这个活动竟然也是99 Hudson的sales event,而且违反HOA rules,但是99 Hudson找了律师,给住户们发律师函,威胁大家不能阻拦
[Help] Residents received a letter from the HOA lawyer in 99 Hudson. Is the lawyer threatening the residents if residents protest a broker sales event advertised as an Alumni Chinese New Year Party of the University of Peking?
We need some help on the letter from the HOA's lawyer with potentially illegal and threatening words. Is this acceptable or will you be happy to live in a building like this?
99 Hudson has a broker sales event on Feb 4th. The event is advertised as the Alumni New Year Party of the University of Peking Alumni Association instead of a "Private Sales Event'. It initially charged a $70 admission fee to each member under the name of the University of Peking Alumni Association. It goes against HOA rules that include but not limited to:
No commercial use of the amenities, including charging fees. A private reservation only allows 4 hours for residents. The event advertises for 6 hours.
Residents protest by sending emails to HOA and group discussions. After that, all residents have received a letter from the HOA lawyer with the following sentence highlighted in quotes:
"It is unfortunate that some have engaged in harassing and threatening conduct towards the Sponsor’s Agent."
-- To my knowledge, the statement is NOT true. No one contacted this sales agent in person. This sales agent even does NOT in resident's group chatting channel.
We understand that some Owners may be planning to protest or interfere with this Event on February 4th. This will confirm that any such conduct will not be tolerated by the Association.
Not only does such behavior constitute a violation of the Association’s rules, it may be criminal in nature and it is certainly harmful to the Member’s of the Association.
-- Are these words threatening all residents? I don't know of any planned protests or interfering activities. Even the protests happen, is it criminal in nature? Is the silent protest illegal in the United States?
Indeed, it is in all Owner’s interest for the Sponsor to continue selling Units within the Condominium. Accordingly, please refrain from any efforts to interfere with the Private Sales Event to avoid enforcement action by the Association."
-- I am one of the owners, but I do NOT consider that Sponsor's sale event intensively occupying building amenities represents my interests. How does the lawyer pretend to speak for my interests? I personally don't care how much money the developer will make. I do care that HOA really serves residents and keeps my living environment in a good shape.

那是,纽约华人圈谁人不知,她和她老公大幅头像挂在path站里。
别人办派对卖房有啥好阻拦的。如果房子卖不掉,不是住在里面的人倒霉,每户人家每个月要多付维持费?
好笑死了,里面房客闹到最后,其他人都不敢买,然后房客被迫调高维持费因为大楼要更多律师费和房客打官司。
