Haoyang Yu, a Chinese American, was charged with 21 counts amid the China Initiative. In May, the jury unanimously acquitted all but one count. I am not qualified to opine on the merit of the case, but noted that several Asian American associations are supporting him
Asian Americans for Equal Rights (AAER) Chinese Americans of Lexington (CALex) Chinese Americans of Massachusetts (CAMA) Chinese American Network of Winchester (CAN-Win) Chinese Culture Society of Greater Nashua Fukien Chen Association of North America Sharon Chinese Association Tsinghua Alumni Association of Greater Boston United Chinese Americans (UCA)

Yu was convicted on "possessing a trade secrete". The trade secrete in question is a chip called HMC1022A. A search shows that much information about the "trade secrete" is in public domain http://www.datasheet-pdf.com/PDF/HMC1022A-Datasheet-AnalogDevices-1099764
