对吧，想打破思维定势就是这么的困难。
关键是英语没这个说法，德裔美国人就是German American。不是什么American Born German。
America怎么能born Chinese？除非这些人放弃国籍去了中国？确实也有几个例外。但对大多数华人二代来说就是CA，而不是ABC

还真不是，这涉及到关键的国籍认同问题。华二代如果被说成是ABC他们还以为自己中国人，但是他们显然不是的。他们只不过是华裔美国人而已，跟在美国的绝大多数其他族裔一样。
我不认识人得到了自己选的机会，都是按照孩子出生时父母身份定。
只有在美国出生并长大的华裔Asian American才叫ABC，仅仅是美国出生的不在美国长大的不能叫ABC，虽然字面上是这个意思。
按ABC字面理解是误解ABC这个词。楼主就是。
ABC的核心是香蕉人，外表是老中，内心是老美。所以当然是美国人，ABC也都认为自己是美国人。没人认为他们是有中国国籍的中国人。虽然他们有可能有中国国籍。
核心啥玩意，再解释外表是老中内心是老美的人也是Chinese American。
类似错误的翻译还有华裔美国人的中文翻译。“美籍华人” 意思根本就不通，故意把华裔美国人翻译翻译成“美籍华人”不知道是蠢还是坏。没听说把其他国家类似的翻译成这样的比如这些都不存在，“美籍德国人”？“ 德籍美国人” ， “美籍日本人” 都什么玩意儿。
