美国传统大公司裁员从来都是立即生效,无论华尔街还是其他地方,都是在接到通知即日起立刻终止雇佣关系,同时让你签一份放弃申诉的协议来换取 severance package,你可以选择不签去走劳动仲裁,但是不签就得放弃 package

这是法律规定,不是公司仁慈,比如纽约,一次性裁员超过500(我记得是500),必须提前90天通知,上次我老公公司大裁员超500多人,他就拿了三个月工资,福利,但不能去去上班,三个月后在根据工作年限,拿Severance Package, 各种福利正式终止,从Payroll 上除名。小规模裁员,就没这么好的待遇了。那次大裁员后,没被裁的也吓坏了,跳槽的人很多,后来不少被裁的又被招回去了
不是马工,我以前呆过的公司,这种cost reduction形式的裁人,也是差不多3个月后才生效。不知道是不是裁人比例没推家那么大的缘故,last working day也不是提前3个月,宣布之后,被裁的照样上班。当然,摸鱼找下家是很正常的。

其实IT业很多大公司都是这样,通知裁员后保持雇佣2个月才terminate employment,然后再给1-2个月的package

我好些朋友都是consulting的,里面partner睡经理,经理睡下面的associate,太多了。女的一旦结婚生子,就不给升值,被逼着去industry。美其名曰是因为有家庭,不能老出差,所以不适合consulting

那个人应该没有工作过。大家都知道下属如果和manager有任何不正当关系,可以告个天价出来,哪还需要继续被manager为了点薪水揉虐。
consulting和投行哪家不是这样?除非你长得丑没人搭理你。刚毕业没多久的年轻女孩被经理带着出差一周,住在酒店里很容易搞事情。女经理也是继续跟男partner睡,还跟下面新来的男associate睡。当然也不是都这样,但这个行业比别的行业乱太多了。男人没事别娶consulting公司美女。

那是你见识不够多,2010年我被 Cigna 裁的时候,他们给我 1 month notice period 加上三个月的 severance package. 而且立马就不用上班,也可以立马 领unemployment . insurance included in the 1 month notice period.

亲身经历的是如果来年promotion 没有你的名字,老板会劝你找个新的组,新的组喜欢你的话可以留下,但是这个很难,半年多时间没办法和组员竞争。 然后performance manager 就找你counsel out,开始是暗示你看谁谁谁走了找到了更好的工作,你还不能领会就塞一个苦脏累project 给差评,还不能领会你就再苦脏累呆着吧。 苦脏累结束了,不会给你新的project,utilization 开始降低,就可以开启PIP了。
