The old 5 night/7 night certificates can be gifted so they can be booked directly under a buyer's name. The single free night certificate cannot be gifted, the only way the seller can do is: a: book under the seller name and add the buyer name as a check in guest when the booking is made. b: seller call into the hotel and add a note to the reservation to indicate the buyer is a guest and will check in. The problem is b: doesn't always work so make sure the seller does a:. The confirmation email might not have buyer's name on the reservation, the buyer will need to call into the hotel and ensure the buyers name is on the reservation and can check in. As a buyer, one should always have a back up plan in case the deal falls through for whatever reason. There is always some risks invovled as Marriott can crack down at any time as single free night certificates can't be booked for anyone else other than the owner of the certificate (i.e. owner needs to check in). If you can't take that risk then you should buy points (capped at 100K per year from single source, 500K per year from multiple sources) from the seller instead and transfer to your own marriott account and use the points to book

Mm 你这胆子也太大了吧 几张不同人的FN 打给客服 这不是明目张胆告诉客服你跟别人交易 也太心大了吧 估计Marriott客服多接几个这样电话就得实施新措施 以后永远只能自己用了
去年秋天在温哥华（钱定的），对方坚持要我show up 才给白金会员，最后我都没有收到攒的点儿，因为收据上没有我的名字。大家都注意一点儿。
可是现在都是要网上订好了再打电话加名字，Email里也看不到加好没有，就怕入住那天出问题。

可以看到的。我改过了收到新的confirmation email就看到家人的名字作为additional guest 在上面了。
Marriott 人还说这种情况不要在网上订，打电话订。当然也可以网上订了马上打电话改动。 Marriott 网站订的时候不能加second guest 好烦的。
会再收到一封加人的email的 然后入住那天会员不去也没啥问题

对，这是我理解的转 fn的操作，电话是打给酒店不是打给万豪，电话打给酒店加名字不会有新的confirmation email
