这个每个大学不一样啊。
顶尖大学比如 Stanford 要求至少三年，Harvard 要求 4年，有些大学不是 require 而是 recommend 两年以上，就是说如果学生有两年以上的 foreign language，他们在录取上会有点优势。
基本上是最少两年。

所以基本上是要求至少两年高中语言课。如果所在高中没有学生想修的语言课，可以自学AP或者网课。
自学ap的话 一门算几年呢
Harvard 四年是 recommend 不是 require。
这个俺从来没有看到过一个确切的答案，呵呵, 最好与所申请学校的 admission 问问。
俺觉得 4 years of high school language (single language) > 2/3 years > AP exam only no high school class
对的， 并不是时间上一定要读3，4年， 而是程度。 我们9年级会给考试，可以直接从Chinese 2,3上起。
中文ap感觉是不是有的娃9年级就可以考掉了？还是我太想当然了
很牛的可以。 中文AP挺难的（对ABC来说）， 读写要很强。 高中课程要协调各科时间。 我家娃考了后从CHINESE 2上起， 按成绩他可以从3上， 但课程时间不合适， 上3就上不了音乐课， 他不愿意。
那是建议。负责地说，两年也行
取决于申请学校。比如case western要求4年，不足的要考toefl展现英文成绩

我娃老师说的
可以。我们附近很多ABC娃就是9年级考Chinese AP，他们都是中文学校学的中文，不在高中上Chinese AP课。
我们家的也打算这样。
加州是肯定有的。但就这样中文课开的也不多， 看学校。 如果是西班牙语， 学校会开好几个period的课，因为上的人多， 这样就很容易选， 中文就少得多，就一个period。
挺厉害的。 我家的中文水平上完中文学校也离AP的水平差得远。
需要是同一门外语吗？
九年级考掉中文AP的娃挺多的，而且还都是自考。

是这样的，孩子也可以网上上大学的中文课，这个不仅满足了语言课，而且还对申请大学有帮助。既然是网上上，那哪个大学就无所谓了。欢迎上我的大学的高年级中文课。 另外，高中生上大学课程属于dual enrollment. 学费比在校大学生便宜$2700左右。很多不知道🤷♀️亏了
