都是几十年前的设计了。现在能跑就算是pass了。 而且客运铁路本身在美国就是个鸡肋的东西。我比较好奇这条线路的情况:上座率,价格,稳定性。
所以美国是应该搞一波基建了。
但是我不认为在客运铁路上投资有啥意义:这已经是一条观光铁路而不是正常的基础设施了。
这条线路其实很有名啊,Empire Builder,全世界最漂亮的几条观光线路之一,尤其到冬天大雪纷飞,坐在餐车吃着龙虾穿过整个glacier np美得不行。 主要问题是卧铺车票死贵,然后因为铁路客运比货运等级低时间掐不准,坐这个不少是和坐游轮对应的,包厢室内淋浴等等。
发生在美国,反而没啥热度,呵呵呵

我做过西南酋长和微风号。amtrak那是真的慢,真的晃荡。默认晚点1小时
都是退休老头老太太在旅游。我坐西南酋长的时候,整个卧铺车厢只有我一个50以下的非白人。
所以说这样的年龄分布,翻车了只死3个人,我是不信的。

高铁不能看票价是否回本,盘活沿线城市经济,带动人流才是目的,这也是美国没法做的原因之一,但为什么人家日本和德国就可以
带动人流也得有足够的人流能带啊 高铁多的东亚和欧洲,像你说的日本,人口密度可都不小 美国就算造,只有东西两岸还有一点点可能吧
机票便宜是因为联邦补贴,比如covid一来,3大航司各个都有政府兜底。一些偏远小航司在华盛顿没有人脉的,就只能断航或者破产了

人口密度大的地方可以建,其他地方都算了。公路很多地方都需要重铺了,破破烂烂的,一条路两年了都没铺好呢,慢悠悠地,美国整体令人越来越失望。不过,国内的政策变来变去,也没什么好归的。

如果仅仅有一点点,技术上建这个东西并不是很make sense,因为维护成本各种东西都很麻烦。
西海岸密度也不够。
可能只有东北部现在勉强够修高铁,但是也是在盈亏线上下。还不如老老实实多盖个机场,然后把去机场的地铁好好修修。
这些并非是专门的观光火车, 是属于常规的长途客运,北线跨东西比如芝加哥到西雅图都得走这趟线。
票价只有卧铺贵,如果是不嫌麻烦且是一天行程(比如朝发夕至),硬座很便宜还时不时推出折扣票
国内绿皮火车速度不慢,只是停得多。 绿皮80-120公里样子。而且多内提速好多次了,现在的绿皮应该有160左右
