求助已经预定或者打算在Great Alaskan Holidays订RV看过来

一个月前订了房车交了定金,离出发不到两周,收到邮件被告知车由于供应商的原因和美加边境封锁造成车没到位,取消了我的预定,给了其它租车公司的网站,几乎没有选择,求助这种情况下除了取消行程还有别的办法吗。
贴了邮件供参考,我是考古了版上其它网友的游记选了他家,估计也有不少人在做计划,如果选择他家最好去确认一下希望不要再踩同样的坑。
Regretfully, we have been forced to cancel your reservation.
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to create significant disruptions to normal business operations here at Great Alaskan Holidays, as well as vacation and rental plans for our valued customers.  
Forest River Motor Homes, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, is the company we purchased our fleet of motorhomes from out of Northern Indiana. Forest River has experienced both production shutdowns, as well as delays in production. The delays have been caused by both the overall concern for employee safety, local laws, and massive supply chain disruptions on many items such as sidewall fiberglass and generators.  
Typically, for the last 30 years, Great Alaskan Holidays gets the motorhomes to Alaska in what we call our Spring Adventure Package, where our customers vacation while driving our motor homes to us from the Midwest. With the ongoing Canadian Border closures, we were unable to operate the program this year (or last year) and had to rely on commercial drivers to bring our fleet to Alaska through Canada.  
In the last 36 years, purchasing almost 3,000 motorhomes, we have NEVER had a manufacturer deliver even ONE motorhome beyond the date promised. We relied heavily upon the Forest River’s management knowledge of their vendors abilities and their supply chain’s circumstances when they promised that our motor homes would be built, ready, and delivered on time. We would not have taken a single reservation had we not received these assurances, on multiple occasions from Forest River.
Unfortunately, with the production problems at Forest River, and now an extreme shortage of DOT qualified delivery drivers, these variables, all out of our control, are forcing us to cancel reservations as the motorhomes are arriving behind an already padded schedule.  
Because the motorhomes have not arrived here in Alaska, it is with great sadness and reluctancy that we are now forced to cancel your reservations and many other valued customer’s reservations. 
You may elect to receive a full refund, or you may choose to delay your trip to August, September, or Summer of 2022. For additional information, or to change the dates of your trip, please contact us at

居然还有这种事情发生,也太郁闷了。 我们也定了他家八月初,希望不会有问题。

我有个朋友在别的公司租好了房车,后来被告知不available, 他们赶紧又租了一辆SUV外加trailer, 这样也类似于房车,但是更灵活。你也可以考虑一下。

和楼主同样遭遇,也刚收到同样email,也是快出发了。通知太晚了,可想的办法几乎没啥

基本就是6月15号以前的新车型会受影响。我半个月前看TripAdvisor 上有讨论。我也是6月的。更晚一点。昨天打了电话说是我的没问题。只能希望如此。 大家6月份租rv特别是新车大车一定要打电话问问。大车的车型受影响的多。他们这回确实也是意想不到,生产和delivery都受COVID影响。

昨天都快晚上11点了才收到Email,我的是6月19号,也被cancel了,现在在想办法,看到底怎么办。好多tour都订了。去年就早早订了机票,结果不得不取消,今年又来这么一出。

啊。太过分了!这样看我也得小心了。我还没定tour但是好多rv site 都定了。有的也不好cancel.我是6/22号的。 你订婚的是多大的车?

你说昨天都打电话confirm了,应该是没受影响。我租的是28FP。6月15号之前的新车受影响,是在哪看到的消息?可以贴下link吗?我提前两个个多月订的,之前一点不知道,昨晚直接收到Email。哪怕早点儿告诉一下可能性,也不至于这么被动。你订的是不是短点的?

是的。我定的是短的。4人的。你去他网站上看。首页就有个message关于车的事儿。message 里也说了6/15号以后会有少数family 会受影响。

是昨天晚上发的一批Email,你要没收到估计还安全。你们也订的新的model吗?我是原来20号,后来改成19号after hour了。回我电话的人说过几天再evaluate,不知道是真是假。问车什么时候到,一概回答不知道。然后发现今天上午,钱已经麻利给退了。

比我时间还紧张,我比你晚一周,真是给的时间太短了,措手不及呀。我的钱今天上午已经给退了,我都没说要refund呢

阿拉斯加能去的地方很多,冰川湾加朱诺周边都能玩一周了。安克雷奇租不到车,可以坐火车去苏厄德,然后玩个几天。

感觉这个email不是一次性发的?五月已经发过至少一次了吧?TripAdvisor 上都是五月的贴。 感觉是一批一批的cancel。ceo的信说june 15以后还有cancel的。所以,估计cancel估计后面还有几轮。不到最后一刻,他们不发通知吧。这样太被动了。

要早知道5月cancel了一批,早做打算,现在也不会这么被动。他们网站上贴的CEO的信,不知道是不是5月份就贴出来了,还是这一批cancel的才贴出来。看那封信感觉说的被cancel的不是很多似的

这样挺好的。羡慕。我去年就付费cancel机票,move on一回了。今年提前两个多月订的,结果last minute来这么一出。要是还cancel,我都不想再折腾阿拉斯加。所以比楼主纠结很多
