I have two russian friends moved from IT to the business side. One of them did in 2009, left an old position and on the day to start in the new position only to find out the new head count had been eliminated so she was left dangling. It was eventually resolved half a year later and she has done quite well since then, doing modeling work in analytics on the risk(credit/market) side. The other one had a math PHD and both were strong chess players and could beat living *hit out of me, lol. We had a lot of talks about Russia and China and I was surprised a lot of things I had seen in China were copied from Russia.

I am not young at all. I am simply not very observant. 政治学习啦,学生军训啦 when I mentioned to them, they were like, "really? we did that too"
