垃圾债券，一般S&P BB+ rating 以下。 风险高（比如还不了本金），而且手续费高些，但收益率会高些。

把手里的cash买短期的muni bond是一种选择。注意bond fund和bond的风险是不同的，最好搞清楚bond fund的特点，对interest rate 的走向有自己的看法后再买bond fund。

Also mind everone that during March 2020 when equity dropped 30%, munis dropped 12% and so far equities have more than recovered but munis just recovered and went up only a tiny bit. Munis histocially have low default risks but market risks are still out there.
