Bond market is much bigger than the stock market. When the fed start to raise interest rates bond prices will drop (by how much depends on duration of the bond), if you are still young, stay away from bonds and instead go with mostly equities as long term equities out performs bonds. If you do get bonds, 401K is perfect as it is tax deferred (or tax free if it is roth).

Treasure回报率太低了，通常都是60岁左右为了求稳才会去买，或者用来对冲stock市场的风险，比如去年2~3月份treasure bonds就大涨了一次。 我曾经买过TLT和其他一些bond的ETF，最后都是受不了那超低的beta，干脆把钱转去买BDC stock，一年还能收了6%~10%分红。
