ETF is definitely more liquid as mutual funds you can only buy/sell at the end of day NAV vs ETF you can buy/sell intraday but you have to deal with bid-ask spread. Even for the exact same underlying asset at vanguard during the market downturn(in March,2020), you constantly see a price discrepency. For an example, you see your EFT goes down by 5% but the same mutual fund only goes down by 3% (which provides a arbitrage opportunity!). In a normal market, they pretty much go up and down the same pace and the most difference is EFT has lower purchase requirements and the same mutual fund tends to be more tax efficent if you buy and sell and easier to re-invest.

你要是在退休账户里买肯定不能马上取,要是个人账户就可以(有些mutual fund规定多少天之内不能取)。 ETF随时交易更灵活一些,但这(频繁交易)也不一定是好事。如果是buy and hold, 其实mutual fund挺好。
