I am quite curious why/how people are able to see from afar Fireflies that should have tiny energy for transmitting light for so long time!? “This means that you can be standing in a forest so dark you cannot see your hand in front of your face one second and then you will be surrounded by flashing lights, only to be plunged back into darkness,” Martinson says. “It is one of the most amazing displays of nature that I have ever seen.”
September 19, 2017 “Fireflies are such amazing creatures,” says Rochester biologist Amanda Larracuente. “This is a group of organisms that is biomedically important because of the enzyme that produces their characteristic flashes of light. … Plus, they are one of those iconic species that everyone can recognize and that are really special to a lot of people.”
https://www.scimall.org.cn/article/detail?id=1506849
Transmitting of light would probably one of them. Just a guess!
