Any American who has travelled to or lived in China has recognized the supreme inconvenience of communications resulting from the CCP''s aggressive censorship and regulations. Facebook Messenger, Twitter, Instagram, WhatsApp? Maybe if your VPN is working on a lucky day. Otherwise the choice is WeChat or regular text message. And you know what? I along with every other American I know who has gone to China made do and survived to tell the tale. China justifies their action as necessary for "national security" so I simply don''t understand why we wouldn''t do the same. Yes, it is supremely inconvenient, but that doesn''t stop the Chinese from instituting their regulations. We must stop being soft. China is a threat. China is unconstrained by typical concerns of respecting privacy, elections, or upholding human rights. We have to push back or else our country''s future is at stake.
