I’m sorry this happened. I wish the best for his family as they go through this difficult time. But this disease is really crazy. As an ER nurse, I have seen people with pretty clear lungs and on room air have to be intubated a few hours later. Post intubation X-ray shows a complete “white out” of the lungs. Basically the lungs filled with fluid. Some people we send away. I often wonder what happened since so many are “fine” and sent home and also some are “fine” and intubated in just a few short hours. You can’t hold everyone in the hospital with it and you can’t predict who will need intubation. Other diseases there are tons of markers and signs where you can say “damn, this person is sick and needs to stay”. This disease isn’t so cut and dry. It’s a roll of the dice.
看看又一个死在家里的经历:“They basically said the hospitals are overwhelmed, and as she's breathing it would be best to care for her at home.” “This is what happened to my aunt a week ago. She was suffering from a gastrointestinal issue for a few weeks, and ambulances were called on three separate instances. They basically said the hospitals are overwhelmed, and as she's breathing it would be best to care for her at home. She passed 9 days ago, and they are now telling us it may have been COVID related. Unfortunately she couldn't get any medical care, and this is where we are now.”
