李时珍生于明朝嘉靖年间，自幼聪明伶俐，好学上进，小小年纪就立志考取功名，光耀门庭。可是天有不测风云，在李时珍十六岁时，他突患急病，咳嗽不止，并且久治不愈。随着病情加剧，他每日吐痰碗余，烦渴引饮，骨蒸劳热，六脉浮洪，虽服用柴胡、麦冬、荆芥、竹沥等解表退热、润肺清心、清热化痰之剂却毫无效果。方圆百里的名医都束手无策，认为他已无药可救。
眼看小时珍生命危在旦夕。正在李时珍的父母悲伤绝望之际，村子里来了一位从远方云游到此的道士，这位道士白发长髯，颇有仙风道骨的味道。闻言道士专治疑难杂症，小时珍的父母急忙把道士请到家中给他看病。道士给小时珍号了脉象后，捋捋长髯说：“不妨，不妨，此病只需服用黄芩一两，加水两盅，煎至一盅，服用半月即可痊愈。”

大青椒属于中医药现代化流派，
确实跟传统中医药，完全不同。
就好比华山派气宗跟剑宗的区别。又好比佛教宗派划然，各宗有各宗的内容，各派有各派的藩篱。

不仅是古籍中对这一味活血行气的药材推崇，现代的研究也发现它是一味良药，这味中药就是延胡索。
中药延胡索也称作“元胡”、“玄胡索”，是多年生草本植物延胡索的干燥根茎，药材的采集一般在植物叶枯萎之后便可挖取植物，放于开水中煮到没有白心为止，如果与醋一同煮则是“醋延胡索”，能增强止痛的作用。
延胡索的作用
中药延胡索五味属辛、苦，四气属温，无毒，归到心经、肝经和脾经，有“活血，行气，止痛”的作用。
延胡索的中医理解
中药延胡索一直受到历代中医推崇，被称作“活血行气止痛要药”，李时珍之所以说它“行血中气滞，气中血滞”是因为它既能够入“血分”而活血祛瘀，又能够入“气分”而行气散滞，气行则血运行畅通，血行则气充足。
李时珍之所以说中药延胡索“专一身上下诸痛，用之中的，妙不可言”是因为无论是气的瘀滞还是血的瘀阻都会造成疼痛，而气血运行不畅所影响的部位不同所表现出疼痛的位置不同，所以李时珍所说的“一身上下诸痛”是气血运行不畅所引起的，而非所有的疼痛，其中“用之中的”的意思就是用之能对症。
中药延胡索备受中医推崇，不仅李时珍，包括孙思邈在内的多名中医“名家”都对它赞赏有加。但是，中药是中医大展身手的“工具”，只有专业人士可以使用，如果感到身体不适还需要取得医生的帮助，不可自行调理，因为中药的“药性”、“药理”复杂，绝不是一朝一夕可以理解的。
