Gunmaker Remington Arms has stepped up to help coronavirus epicenter New York combat the contagion. Remington CEO Ken D’Arcy offered to manufacture ventilators, medical masks, and hospital beds to help the disease-infested state.
D’Arcy made the offer in a letter to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and President Donald Trump, where he also agreed to provide “approximately one million square feet of unused and available manufacturing space” at Remington’s plant in Ilion, New York.
D’Arcy said Remington Arms would be honored to manufacture ventilators, surgical masks, hospital beds, and any other supplies to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.
Of course, the irony is that anti-Second Amendment lawmakers in liberal New York are getting aid from the very people they’ve been trying to put out of business for years.
Remington will also continue to make firearms, pursuant to new guidance from the Department of Homeland Security, which designated gun companies “essential” businesses amid the coronavirus panic.
