I am a nurse at a hospital in rural Oklahoma. We were told we are not testing people because we don’t have testing kits, that we are to re-wear masks so we don’t run out, and that we need to use disinfectant wipes as sparingly as possible because there is a shortage. I have patients with respiratory symptoms every day at work who will never be tested, and therefore never become confirmed cases. Even if this guy is donating for PR, bring it on. We need supplies. permalinkembedsavereportreply

Except for the testing kits since her department doesn’t deal with patients. Also, same with my mother in-law who works at the hospital a block from the house. An interesting tidbit about the hospital my mother in-law works at... they lied about having a coronavirus patient. They confirmed it and the person was quarantined. By the end of the day news trucks lined the block. All night we waited for the news to announce it. Nothing was ever said. She went to work the next day and was told that it was a false positive. The patient was transferred to a wing without much traffic and is still under lock and key.
