Since it has an average 5days incubation time and two weeks to progress into severe cases, spreading ofCOIVD-19 in the early phase of an endemic is silent and stealthy. Therefore, we are now in the most dangerousphase of stealthy spreading in the community. Currently, there is no specific treatment nor vaccine forCOVID-19. The only effective measures are non-pharmaceutical interventions suchas social distancing. And the only way to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 is tobe proactive. We need to act NOW and FAST to stay ahead of the curve of viralspreading. Being reactive means defeat and failure that will be paid with manylives. Fortunately, COVID-19 seems to spare our youngsters, kidsseldom develop severe symptoms. It's a huge relief for parents. However,schools are perfect ground for COVID-19 to breed and spread. Our students cancome home and bring the virus with them and infect their loved ones, parents,grandparents. I am especially worried about anyone above 40 years old, the fatalityrate increases dramatically as age increases. Even among younger patients, thereaction to this virus is highly unpredictable: some barely have any symptomsand some get very sick and die from it.
