A massive Manhattan apartment in the iconic Sherry-Netherland hotel that belongs to self-exiled Chinese billionaire developer Guo Wengui has come back onto the market with another hefty price reduction. Occupying the 18th floor of the Sherry-Netherland, a hotel and co-operative building on Fifth Avenue and 59th Street in Manhattan, the 15-room pad was relisted for $55 million on Tuesday by Brown Harris Stevens. Mr. Guo, also known as Miles Kwok, first put the seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom home on the market for $86 million in October 2015, a few months after he purchased it for $67.5 million, property records show. The price was reduced to $78 million in 2017, and subsequently to $68 million in May 2018, and finally to $67 million in November 2018, according to listing records on StreetEasy.

The apartment, serviced by all three of the building’s elevators, has a gallery, a library with custom paneling and a bar, a media room, a living room with three exposures of Central Park, a square-shaped dining room and a spacious eat-in kitchen, according to the listing. “Every entertaining space enjoys Central Park views, and nearly all rooms overlook or access one of three planted terraces,” the listing said. Listing agents Kathleen M. Sloane and Curtis Sloane of Brown Harris Stevens, did not respond to a request for comment. The 38-story Sherry-Netherland, built in 1928, offers white glove service, including room service straight from the kitchen of Harry Cipriani, twice daily maid service and a 24-hour concierge. The monthly maintenance fee runs roughly $69,000, according to StreetEasy. Mr. Guo, who could not immediately be reached for comment, often used this home to livestream about the political power struggle, corruption and other so-called top secrets in China, including a recent post alleging that coronavirus was spread by the Chinese military. He and his former business enterprises, Pangu Investment and Zenith Holdings, are accused of corruption and money laundering by the Chinese government. He claims he is a citizen of the United Arab Emirates.
