这本书很有趣也很容易读,推荐推荐,还有一些其他观点: • Large proportions of Americans would be “displeased” if their child married someone from another political party (Iyengar et al. 2012). • Many Americans have processed the polarizing messages from political elites and the media in a way that alters their evaluations of the parties, candidates, and, most strikingly, their fellow citizens. • These findings suggest that Facebook users indicate stronger preferences for being friends with their co-partisans. • Frequent Facebook users are much more confident in the accuracy of their estimates of partisanship, ideology, and knowledge level in the inference studies, but they were no more likely to be accurate.
A final chapter suggests how confounds of psychological polarization could be counteracted: These recommendations reach from hypothetically banning all political content (this is more of a thought experiment; Settle doesn’t actually propose this as a solution), increasing the quality of information through peer judgment, working against inference by adding political transparency of individuals, pushing the opinion of moderates more to the fore, removing quantification cues to suggestions such as trying to make discourse itself more deliberative.

pushing the opinion of moderates more to the fore这个solution比较简单
Frenemies: How Social Media Polarized America
