Ask Congress to respond to the Wuhan coronavirus by declaring a state of emergency
2019-nCov is a serious disease-causing virus in the same family as the deadly SARS and MERS viruses. It appears to easily spread from person to person. The best ways to stop the spread of this virus is to quarantine suspected cases and to encourage people to take special precautions in areas of the country that have suspected cases of the virus BEFORE the CDC’s confirmation.
However, because of privacy rules which regulate the use and disclosure of protected health information, the CDC cannot preemptively release general information (such as county or city) about suspected cases without a federal order or an act of Congress.
In order to save lives and stop the virus, please join in asking Congress to issue Federal orders to respond to the spread of 2019-nCov.
