你的allowance不是必须在验光师那里用。你要配隐形的话，先要去验光。一般都是Doctor of optometry (OD), 而不是ophthalmologist做验光。需要的话，你可以同时要一个有框眼镜的处方，我记得是不会额外收费的。然后你要做一个fitting exam，会有人教你如何摘戴。或者在验光的时候，或者在fitting exam的时候，你会领到2-3个牌子的隐形眼镜，回家自己试戴。一般会有人告诉你每天戴多久，比如第一天戴约1小时，第二天2小时，第三天4小时等等，最后要一天戴约8小时，看有没有不适感。有的话，比如眼睛红，干涩，不清楚，有光晕，或者镜片容易错位等等，你就回去和验光师说，然后领其他牌子或者型号试戴。等你选好自己的隐形眼镜，验光师会给你一个处方，上面写着你的隐形眼镜的牌子，型号，度数，有无散光，直径和曲率。然后你自己用处方去买隐形就可以了。
