Don't sweat the small stuff. If you obsess over minor things that no one cares about, it doesn't make you look good.
Some ignorant da ma on this forum actually questioned my education level because I suggested that using perfect grammar isn't always important. Don't be that kind of rigid stuck-up person.

原文不是你这个意思。 我看川普，小布什，奥巴马几任总统讲话也都是右边的。 We got him什么的， 都不说captured什么的。
要看语境和上下文，we got him是说我们抓住他了，所以用简短有力的口头表达方式或者是captivating headline，如果你再看后面的press release，肯定就是XX has been captured。。。。

因为听众是大众，大众普遍受教育水平不高，当然要用他们听得懂有感触的词
official document, legal document, academic 都是用左边的多。右边的口语，speech，普通书面用语都可以，但是很少用于严谨的场合，因为可以有太多歧义。
前两个我不了解，也许是或者不是，法律文件是很罗嗦的。但是，academic严重不同意。哈哈。最讨厌读那种明明可以写present/now的，一定要写at the present time。precise and concise才是academia的原则
要看具体语境，什么场合，上下文之类的。语言要有变通的，跟你说中文一样
