I think you should have a style (tradtional or country or contemperary) that is set throughout the house and then do decoration. MM did a great job on single piece of furniture but the total effect is not good
This part makes me very confused. Do u mean the fabric u like is too expensive so that u can only settle down with cheap fabric temprorary and give up what u like. Home decoration is a long term project. If you are under budget restriction, u don't need to finish all right away. Buy some quality pieces gradually. A lot of furniture store offer financial options, such as Ethan Allen. I am old fashioned. I really feel your decoration is very busy looking. It lacks a center topic.

I think the sofas and the room color palette work better with the white roman curtains. I love the second photo. It's cool, elegant, yet still maintains a cozy feeling. You can save the floral theme curtains for other rooms a. BTW, I always think large floral prints are very eye-catching and have strong visual impression. If well used, they could be elegant and interesting. The small ones are fussier and have a cozier feeling. I read the slipcover post at wenxuecity. it's smart to precut with paper but it is still too difficult for me. Hehe. You guys are amazing!

很多人给了我很好的建议，叫我换换窗帘，我正在琢磨中，希望找出更好的选择，谢谢大家给我提的意见，我整个二楼还没动手，给了我不少帮助。自己做之前，根本就什么也没弄过，完全是看书还有爱家论坛里一些装修帖子学的，希望大家都给我提意见，我不怕拍砖：）为什么呢？因为拍砖的时候双方都愉快，拍砖的人愉快，我得到了启示，可以改进然后得到一个更好的结果，所以我也愉快：）

其实我在看第二张照片的时候感觉非常好，看到第五张的时候就觉得越来越零碎了。不过家就是这样，越住越久东西越来越多，难免。。。
不过mm手真巧阿，窗帘和沙发套都做得很pp.

agree, 沙发外套是条纹的, 窗帘的布料已经给人很零碎的感觉, 又加上其他墙上的饰物, 有点眼花缭乱.

是的,我想做纯白色的沙发.但是妹妹呀.Calico Coner布料店的布料很贵阿，用在一个沙发上的布料差不多一个沙发的价钱，我想了想还是先用一段时间再说吧。

看你装什么地板，硬木的最贵，还有不同装修工人要的价钱也不同

贴瓷砖除了累点没有别的什么难度，不放心可以先到Homedepot去买本书来看一下

贴瓷砖就是有点累，难倒不难。我贴的时候没有裁减，用那种黄色的小石头补在空缺处，但我的瓷砖是花的，所以用小石头补上比较好看。如果用纯色的瓷砖最好买把裁减刀。
主要是Family room比Living Room上像

同感． 第二张照片感觉最好，很清新， 有色彩但不杂乱， 碎花窗帘和沙发套是败笔， 和ＡＲＥＡ ＲＵＧ 完全不配，打乱了整个房间的ＴＨＥＭＥ．不过还是很佩服ＭＭ的手工．

mm真是强手阿，原来冷色调可以这么漂亮的。不过我的感觉和上面的有点像，整体看有点零碎。我觉得茶几旁边的那个小沙发没套的时候和房间更和谐，因为颜色和木质地板很配，又不感觉零碎。
