美联社报道，其中一名主持霍斯汀（Sunny Hostin）10日表示，特朗普对节目贡献甚多，“帮我们完成工作”，值得节目组“感谢”。本身是律师的霍斯汀更称，她有“起诉性犯罪者的经验”，委婉讽刺特朗普涉嫌性侵他人之余，也表示自己并不害怕对方。同样被特朗普辱骂的胡比高拔（Whoopi Goldberg）则说，虽然特朗普形容她“肮脏”，她会以此为荣，而且自己就算经常使用污言秽语，但“从来不会抓别人的私处”。胡比高拔又透露，当年特朗普曾经四次聘请她演出，可见特朗普口是心非。
这次争议起源于9日，《观点》节目访问民主党总统候选人贺锦丽后，特朗普在宾州造势时大肆批评节目主持人，指责身有非裔和西裔血统的霍斯汀“比贺锦丽还笨”，又指身为非裔的胡比高拔“精神错乱”、“嘴巴肮脏”。
民调显示特朗普的女性选民中民望不佳，但特朗普坚称女性只希望国家强大，不会在于言论是否过火。
