C919 may well be the last straw that broke the camel’s back. As soon as Xi Jinping pushes all in to mass produce the C919s, Biden will announce sanctions against the Chinese plane maker COMAC to instantly choke it. Compared to Huawei who has some technologies, COMAC has nothing of its own except assembling Western parts into its fuselage. Upon the US sanctions, COMAC’s collapse will be instant and the shockwaves will ripple thru many industries in China.
Just like the zero-COVID experiment that has brought Chinese economy to its knees, semiconductor chips and COMAC are Xi’s big gambles that cost humongous amounts of resources, yet have zero chance to succeed. When things are said and done, Xi will have no more money to bet on another pet project and the Chinese people have to tighten their belts.

曾因验证飞行发生状况而中断商业飞航进程的首架大陆国产C919客机再次现身,据陆媒报导,东方航空接收的首架中国国产C919客机从上海浦东机场调机飞往上海虹桥机场,将进行类比全旅客流程等的进一步验证飞行,为商业运营做准备。
据《快科技》报导,东航接收的全球首架C919、班号为MU9003的调机航班已于17日上午09:17从上海浦东机场起飞,09:41落地上海虹桥机场,执飞飞机为编号B-919A的东航全球首架C919。
报导说,此次抵达虹桥机场后,东航将进行类比全旅客流程等的进一步验证飞行,为商业运营做准备。
飞航资讯显示,在从浦东调机转场虹桥前,这架C919(B-919A)早上还在南通以东的海上空域转了几个大圈。
报导指出,去年12月,中国东方航空作为C919的全球首发用户,正式接收编号为B-919A的全球首架飞机。根据此前计划,东航首架C919有望最早于2023年春季满足民航局规章要求,投入商业载客运营。
C919是大陆首次按照国际通行适航标准自行研制、具有自主知识产权的喷气式干线客机,2007年立项,2017年首飞,2022年9月完成全部适航审定工作。
今年2月初东方航空注册编号B919A的C919客机在进行验证飞行时未按原定路线飞往安徽合肥,而是改道折返北京。网上传言称,C919客机左侧引擎的反推力器出现故障,但东方航空对此未发表回应。在此次发布的C919重新进行验证飞行的消息中,亦未再提起2月初验证飞行中止的原因。
