As confirmed from the senior centre itself, all residents, 78, are affected by covid-19 and remain isolated in their rooms, and the 33 workers are evolving positively and before joining their job they must present a negative PCR. The centre has noted in a statement that "covid protocol measures have been maintained for all residents at all times" and that "full transparency is carried out in communication with families". From the direction of the residence they have stressed that this is "the first moment" in which they have been affected by the virus, as they have remained free of covid during the first two waves. "On January 13, all residents, including residence staff, were vaccinated with the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine, and within six days the first symptoms began to manifest in ten of the residents," they said. Five days after also vaccinating workers, work losses began and this week it has been confirmed that almost all cases are by covid-19. According to the same source, the center monitored the situation by monitoring the affected residents and on the 21st, noting that the number of patients increased, they made the decision, with the approval of the Management of Talavera de la Reina, to "isolate all residents in their respective rooms", thus initiating the contingency plan against covid-19. In this context, the centre informed relatives of the situation, as well as the decision to perform a PCR test on all majors; the results, known on the 25th, showed that all but one of the residents were positive.
