要知道，SC和系主任有时候的确会说一些口是心非nice的话，比如我们enjoy your visit啦，we like your research plan啦，这些都不能作数。但是一般来说，他们是 不会说谎的。比如说，他们说“我在帮你问另一个系two body问题”，这种涉及实际内容的，99%是真的在帮你问。
去问别的系主任，一定要说我们这有个很好的candidate，他有two body issue，你能 不能帮忙解决。如果另一个系主任上下活动花了三星期帮忙解决了，难道这边还能回复说，哦，其实这位不是我们的top choice，我们决定不给他发offer，但是感谢你帮忙 ？那这个系主任在学校没法混了。
所以，放宽心，耐心地等待属于你的offer。如果特别真心想要这个offer，就回复一封真诚的感谢信，谢谢他的努力，并且暗示即使没有解决two body issue也愿意去这个学校。

why did you say it was not a sign for top candidate?
if not top candidate, no need to consider two-body issue.
意拖延。如果top不接，就是你的offer了。希望还是非常大的。
body的问题，这是多大的一个人情啊，如果不是top choice，谁会去讨这个麻烦？two body问题没有准信前，没有通知你，不是很正常吗？如果他们正在和top choice谈判，他回复你的时候只会叫你等待，必然不会提起你的two body的问题。难道有SCC一边和
top choice 谈判，一边帮runner up 解决two body的问题？除非这个SCC是个专门玩人的主儿，满口炮火车，相信直觉他不是那种人。
