my old child did not like his first dermatologist, as that Doc was always in the rush ( two min, in and out) , did not seem to care his feedback etc , and my old child acne was VERY severe, my son got frustrated :-( and did not want to continue. Then I found another young female dermatologist, she is also chinese, she spent a lot time with him, and explain things patiently, built a good connection and trust, she even told my old child that she had acne herself. So my old child restart the treatment, same medication - Epuris, but much better experince, and good results. he felt confident and good about himself.
As for my young child whose acne was not as bad as the older one, so he stayed with the first dermatologist for the whole duration ( which was short course ) and he was very happy with his results.
so my point is, as parent, do not give up helping our children, if one doc does not work, try another one...
my son's derm Dr. Recommended 3 after failed other treatment. Insurence insist try other treatment before approve this one. Increase choleterol is one of the majore side effect, need blood testing first 3 month. Continue take it for 6 months with different doses. Stopped around fall time when he away from home in college. so far so good.

Isotretinoin 也有好多副作用，depression, ED, pseudo tumor，骨骺提前愈合啥的。当然不是所有的人都有副作用。外用副作用可能小一点。你可以上网查查，心里对副作用有点数。比如要是用了isotretinoin要是开始头疼，视力模糊或者抑郁，起码你知道有可能是副作用。

Suncream 用的也是 Non Comedogenic的。肥皂用 Dove Sensitive的。 每天用纸巾擦脸 （不用毛巾）。 还是建议看好医生。对症下药。如果一个医生给你娃三个选择让你自己挑。我会怀疑他/她的医术。

所以到了老二的时候,开始的也早,大概在十六岁就开始，结果效果很好,也很快，大概一两个疗程就全部解决了，一点都没有复发。

一开始也特别反对用3 , (accutane or Epuris. ) 后来情况越来越严重, 就选择了，效果特别好，另外后来也发现几位医生同事的孩子长豆豆都是吃的这个药，效果都很好。

I have been using many years, now just use 100 mg when I feel something coming up. Then my son started having
same issue, he is using 100 mg/day, twice a day if it gets bad.
