USACO gold + AIME的小中男太多了
如果高中比較沒名氣 會比較吃虧 尤其又是小中男，所以可以ED之前來學校錄取過的藤校 這樣機會更大一點。
主要看作文写得如何，能不能打动AO。打动不了，T30应该希望很大。T5基本希望不大（5%-10%），无论作文写得如何。

继续分享，望对想学CS的有所帮助。秋天freshmen入学州大。在9，10月有公司到校园招聘， 大多数要球二年级以上，但是我儿还是递了一些简历，大概十个左右，没报什么希望。圣诞期间收到两个面试通知， 前后2-3周，都中了, ($46-$47/h)。明年夏天的工作实习。个人感觉，只要编程过硬，公司不在意你是否是新生。

UIUC CS也不容易，该校的CS+X保底差不多

After doing a google search, it turned out to be a school specific for Cal residents.
for twenty years--also got two degrees in elite schools in the US. Are you sure that 你真对STEM硬核学校知道more than I?
HMC是 a local thing--it becomes a viable choice only for Cal residents-- it even does not have any market in its nearby state- our Texas.
An ABC from CMU with biology major ended in doing a master degree in Cal State Univ; and then a Ph.D. in Texas A&M.
Applied to one lab for a postdoc-- declined--too weak background-- and poor of knowledge.
Of course, this should be an individual case-- not necessarily a general pattern.
Furthermore, i did not visit 紫檀 too frequently--
but we 家长s all need to be objective-- but should not over sale any school or dismiss the others--
拿个minor后职场上优势近乎,除了 CS，CMU好几个专业都是排名前几的，而且是目前职场大热
排名很一般的大公校，学校不排名，成绩全A。9，10年级 已经上了6门AP（Stat，Cal BC, WHAP, APCS, AP physics…)， 成绩都是5分，11年级有4门 AP，12年级打算再选物理啥的几门（总共加起来可能会有16，17门），同时在附近CC 上数学课， Multi Var Cal, Linear Algebra, Differential Equation,etc…
SAT： 1550+
PSAT：1500+， 应该可以national merit
EC:
钢琴Qualify 过几次State, 也拿过一些奖，但没有特别的大奖；
网球打了几年，高中期间一直有参加学校JV校队，打得还行，但进不去Varsity;
计算机 USACO Gold, 估计也上不去了；
AIME qualified ，但估计也很难继续晋级了；
其它就是学校coding club officer, 带队参加些比赛啥的；还有就是喜欢自己在一些coding 网站上刷题，现在也能晋级到expert 级别…
最后有一个刚刚开始的research project,但完全还没有任何成绩..
