Rain at seven, fine at eleven.

This proverb means that if it is raining at 7 o’clock in the morning, the weather will be clear and sunny by 11 o’clock.

This proverb is based on the weather in Britain, where it rains a lot.  And a morning rain can sometimes indicate that more than likely it has been raining at night which may give the way for fine weather in the day.

This proverb can also be used for situations where we expect better results after a bad start.

“We lost the first five matches.
Don’t worry. Rain before seven, fine by eleven. And there are still another seven  matches ahead of you.”
