"Confession is good for the soul" means that admitting your mistakes, faults, or sins to someone else, whether it be a religious figure or a trusted friend, can bring a sense of relief and peace of mind, essentially cleansing your conscience and allowing you to move forward feeling lighter and better about yourself; it is often associated with the idea of spiritual healing and self-reflection.
Origin: This saying is rooted in an old Scottish proverb, where "confession" refers to the act of acknowledging wrongdoing, particularly in a religious context like confessing sins to a priest.

I have something to confess to my trusted APAD friends: I reported a "speed trap" on the first day of our road trip back to Canada. When (the driver) driving on Hwy 80 not far outside SF yesterday, a line jumped out in Google map on my dear iPhone: "A trap reported 1 min ago, is it still active?" with "Yes" and "No" choices under it. I never saw a message like this before (mind you, I didn't have a cell phone nor text message until end of Sept), so felt it very interesting.
And then, all of a sudden, I saw a police car in a space between the two sides and the officer was holding a radar detector. "Oh, that must be it"! So I quickly pushed the "Yes" without thinking. "He who denies all, confesses all." So I decided to confess all with no denial. It's such a relief and peaceful feeling to be honest and to confess my own sin .
Happy Friday to U all!
ps. 1. I posted a very short children story, about sharing & honesty, a few days ago in 星坛, in the link below if you have time to read and have a laugh: https://bbs.wenxuecity.com/romance/985962.html 2. The screen capture below explains why I dislike traffic traps (yes, "freedom_2008 is my net-name on most E sites I post, I would use it in here too, if WXC didn't refuse it ;-).
