Hoarfrost

 

Not long ago, in the fall,

You tried on traditional wedding

dresses that were bright red.

You were a classical beauty.

 

Today, in the early winter,

You put on a white wedding dress

that makes you a beautiful bride

who lives in a wonderland.

 

No matter what style you present,

no matter how pretty you are,

no matter how much I love you,

all year round, I just can't.

 

I just can't say yes.

No matter how hard I have tried,

I just can't put down roots by your side.

Your beauty is laid bare for all to see.

 

But if you're willing for a long wait,

till I no longer drift, return to earth,

turn into roots, we'll be together

for as long as the sun circles.

 

Did you catch my drift?

This poem is my promise.

就在不久前的秋天

你试穿过大红大紫的传统婚服

你是个温柔庄重的古典美人

 

今天你又试穿这白色婚纱

你是个冰清玉洁的童话美人

来自那梦幻般的人间仙境

 

无论你呈现什么风格

无论你多么美不胜收

无论我多么爱你，一年四季

 

我还是无法答应，真的不能

因为无论我多么努力尝试

始终无法在你身旁扎下根

 

你的美该让众生来欣赏

如果你愿意，愿意等

我们会在一起，有诗为证

 

秋红冬白准新娘

情挚总遭情淡伤

待到百年飘忽定

扎根入土伴斜阳
