The heavens might have rained on some of our July 4th parades but, all things considered, we're holding up fairly well. Make no mistake though, dark clouds will be rolling back in, sooner or later.
Incidentally, on the creek trail that graces our community, folks keep talking about the weather, even though everyone has already listened to the same weather forecast before heading out. Given such consensus building among us, I forecast that rain-or-shine will remain the talk of the town for ages to come. Just kidding, of course.
Seriously, we have souls from the past sharing our trail. They can't care less about the weather, however. Walt Whitman is one of them, thanks to my silent invitation. I like this free-verse poet who, by virtue of his Leaves of Grass, tells me a lot about his fellow Americans trailblazing through their Civil War years.
I believe there’s always a rejuvenated America taking shape ahead. Shall we walk on?
wow, wow, wow, Yang Yang! This is such a pleasant surprise!
Thank you so much for the beautiful poems!
Talk about the weather! My friend and I went hiking this morning. We forgot to check the weather report before we headed out. When we got there, on the coast, it's foggy and cool. We thought, this is nice for hiking. But less then 5 minutes into the hike, we felt the heat. There was no fog in th valley, and the Sun was out, and it was HOT! And it got hotter when we got up higher on the moutain. My friend hardly made it. But we both did it at the end. We later learned that there were heat adivisories in this area. The temprature reached 93 degree in the valley! No wonder it was so HOT HOT HOT!
Love the pictures and poems! I'm going to save your poems! :)
Have a wonderful weekend!
By the way, there is a very nice song based on 苏轼's 定风波·莫听穿林打叶声. I'm working on it. :)

This is my bias though. I mean I would like classical Chinese musical arrangements better. After all, it is a ci classic of So Dongpo's.
Seriously, I am too much and too far into traditional Chinese poetry. I have reached the point of no return.
I agree with you on the classical Chinese music part.
but because it is hard. You are a tough cookie. Scratch that. You are a tough nightingale.
