When I was a little kid， I thought that I would become blonde and speak perfect English automatically if I could go abroad. When I just came to US, I wondered how come American English was with such a strong accent that I could not easily understand. At that time, I did not realize it was due to my strong Chinese accent. :)
I remember one day when my friend and I went to Target to buy some gifts including Vitamins. The salesman could not understand and he asked, "What? White means? You mean, Tofu?"
Hahaha, I laughed out loud，as "V" was pronounced as "W", and "min" was pronounced as "mean", so "Vitamins" became “white means” which was misunderstood as "Tofu" . 伤不起啊伤不起！！!:)
I have been interested in accent reduction since then. I am lucky to come back to MYSJ to learn beautiful English again with so many intelligent, amazed friends here.
