I think people confuse long term outlook w trading strategy
Whatever long term conviction you have (or not have) on future of US economy, does not change the need to have a solid trading strategy. Posting this thread again here. If your have a trading strategy similar to this, you would be able to respond to either possiblities.
This is why I do not like 定投。I am not saying it is wrong, it does not fit my investment style.

在2008年，人们认为这次真的不一样，因为全球金融系统将被打回石器时代；
在2020年，人们又说这次不一样了，因为疫情将比西班牙流感还严重，全球经济将陷入长达十年的崩溃。
我们讨论批评川普的关税政策，是说以目前的提案，美国经济要走向衰退。“人们又说这次不一样了， 因为没有人能制约川普”。但我还是相信美国的体制， 最终问题会解决的， 川普要一意孤行下去可能性不大。
我们批评川普的关税政策，是因为照现在这个方向走下去，美国经济确实有走向衰退的风险。
但我仍然相信美国的民主制度和三权分立的体制，制度的力量最终会发挥作用。即使短期内看似失控，长期来看，美国还是有自我纠错的能力。我相信川普如果继续一意孤行，最终会在中期选举中失利，那些政策也将难以为继。制度终将让问题回到正轨。

美国这几十年的变化他都经历过， 他每天接触的学生都是美国年轻人。 他认为是需要改革，目前只是阵痛， 看的长远一些目前这些事都不是事儿。
