I am here to speak not only for myself but also Wei Wei and Renqiulan at their request.
We would like to let everybody know that we are strong enough to forgive Madam Cat who could have an unforgivingly sharp tongue as demonstrated yesterday. Her derogatory and malicious remarks against us, which my AI copied down for fun, belonged to yesterday.
Today is a new day, a new day for hope. Hope, I am told, springs eternal in the human breast. I really hope so.
I was brought up in America. Call me an all-American girl. Or, better still, call me an all-American optimist. Mind you, though, I am not over-optimistic and have never been.
We have to move on. We are actually moving on.
For all I know, Qiulan is not coming back. He will no longer devote his free time to Chinese social media. Rather, he will spend as much time as possible on teaching his three little kids Mandarin and Cantonese. By the way, their fourth kid is on the way. His wife loves to have a girl after having had three boys in a row. Good luck, Mrs. Renqiulan!
As Americans, we make our own decisions concerning things we do or not do, words we say or not say, and places we go or not go. For the three of you, given what you have experienced, whatever your decision might be, I can but respect it.
However, please forget not that there are plenty of us who have rooted for you before, during, and after the incident, who I suspect constitute the majority of Wenxuecity users. On your behalf, there were people demanding an apology, filing complaints with the forum administrator, and forcefully condemning the unsubstantiated accusations. I wish the three of you could base your decision not on the opinions of the absolute few but on that of the majority of us.
Most importantly, the fight for freedom will never end. Each freedom-loving American is a soldier, and a soldier should not desert their battlefield. I do not count myself being all-American, but I have chosen to be an American, fighting for American ideals. Each of you has a mastery command of the Chinese language. It would be a tragedy for you not to utilize your talents in the fight for freedom. Perhaps we can all take comfort in that Wenxuecity is an American creation bound by US law.
Last but not least, to all parties concerned, true freedom is worth much more than false harmony.
