近来的航行自由，场面多由老大三十年老舰们独撑。难能可贵能得到英法澳加德劳师远征助威，但想捞的稻草却远大于对中国的威胁：英国要为其英美自贸协议加码，法国要强调其在北约的重要地位，德国要减少美国对其低军事投入及其他方面的指责，而澳加则要绑定老大以期为他们在与中国讨价还价时站台把风。总之各怀鬼胎。 战略上要藐视，但战术上一定要重视。

只要让老大可能的同盟对其胜利的几率有所怀疑而成为骑墙派，中方就达到了大半的目的。东南亚集体噤声是因为他们知道上帝（美国）太远，而中国太近。对欧美，从单纯的东方文化角度去分析处理是不能完全奏效的。从相对贫穷而饱受西北欧歧视的东南欧出发，是一个不错的着眼点。
