Chinese state media tonight released some footage from one of the clashes along the Galwan river that took place on June 15th. It's tricky to geolocate but my best idea (explained below) is that it shows Chinese forces SLIGHTY (<50m) beyond their interpretation of the LAC. pic.twitter.com/SOGHKrxb9V
In later shots you can see that there's a large landslide slip to that rock, which I believer you can SLIGHTLY see in the satellite imagery (shadows make it hard) and it is certainly not before the LAC. pic.twitter.com/LaGpaFBI3p
Finally, there is a short clip that includes footage of the final 'frontline' one of the tents built on that sandbank at the 'bend-in-the-river', with Chinese soldiers lining up in front of it, and this position is considerably back from where the Chinese forced started. pic.twitter.com/lWYt5X863e
But, in short, IF one considers the river itself to mark the LAC at that bend in the Galwan Valley, Chinese forces had crossed the river (really a stream) by the time contact between them and Indian forced began on the afternoon of the 15th. pic.twitter.com/jd1VNwzQuN
