1) Cutting roots, if any. Remove debris with hydro jetting.
2) Camera inspection to ensure cleanliness and measure the length of CIPP Liner.
3) Measure, mark, & cut CIPP Liner, CIPP Calibration Pipe, and fold Liner and Calibration Pipe for next steps.
4) While working on 1)-3), finish the digging (next to the clean out, about 3 ft W x 4 ft L x 3 ft D), and cut out the sewer line (about 2 feet in length)
5) Run final round of camera inspection
6) Mix Epoxy (Resins)
7) Pour mixed Epoxy into the Liner and roll Epoxy across the Liner 4 to 6 times. Dispose extra Epoxy.
8) Blow/Shoot Liner into the sewer line in an inverted manner with a big air compressor and an inversion tank. After inversion, the Liner will be inside out and extended beyond the broken area for 4+ feet.
9) Blow/Shoot Calibration pipe into the Liner using the air compressor and an inversion tank. A rope is attached to the very end of the calibration pipe. The end of the calibration pipe is sealed. The calibration pipe will be longer than the length of the Liner.
10) Insert a water hose through a pipe device into the Calibration pipe and extend it till to the very end of the calibration pipe.
11) The pipe device is connected to Calibration pipe and then connected to a heated water pressure device. Water will be heated to 150+ degrees and pumped into the calibration pipe with 5-8 (atm? 大气压). Water will be circulated and heated for at a minimum 45 minutes. This process is called "Cooking".
12) After cooking, lower the temperature for 45 minutes. This process is called "cooling".
13) Pulling out the calibration pipe with the rope mentioned in step 9).
14) Run camera inspection to make sure everything is fine.
15) Reconnect the sewer line and refill the digged hole.
最终没有采用传统的挖开路面更换下水管道的方案。而是耗资$6000,采用了CIPP Lining的方案,在院子里截断下水管道后,修理了在街道下面的大概3寸左右长的下水道断裂口。所用CIPP Lining材料有20年厂家Warranty,人工有3年的unclogging Warranty.

1. 最初报价$7800的公司(PM强烈推荐的)在本人到现场问询一些细节(具体更换长度,Cross walk的处理,马路沥青的处理,Permit, License,etc.)后,当场表示他们原来的报价做不了,但是迟迟给不出新的报价。这个完全是PM的失职。这个公司连蛇都要去Home Depot现租。
2. 另外安排一家Google Review 4.9的TF公司来做检查、报价。这家比较专业,有自己的snake, camera, detector, etc. 大概半个小时左右就完全确定了问题的具体位置、深度,并且在路面上做了标记。有一个大约3英寸的断裂(在一个管道接口处,怀疑是主管道或者地面沉降所致)他们有License开挖路面,也熟悉Permit事情流程,可以给出工期。应该是老板亲自上阵的,检查完15分钟后当场给出报价:$18,500, 工期2天。老板坚称Trenchless Pipe Repairing technology不适合修理这个断裂。他描述的Trenchless Repair的技术与我此前了解到的CIPP (Cured In Place Pipe) Lining不一样。因为做CIPP Lining需要很多前期的设备投入(至少$100,000以上),我猜测可能他们公司并没有做CIPP Ling的设备。
3. 此前已经联系了一家CIPP Lining公司,他们修理的报价是的$6000。不需要开挖,一切顺利的话大概1-2天可以完工。材料有厂家20年warranty。Job有3年Warranty for unclogging。收到他们报价后,也做了不少功课了解学习CIPP。感兴趣的前辈、地主可以Google “CIPP Lining”或者参考以下链接:

与做CIPP Lining老板再三确认他们的技术可以修理这个断裂,以及确定万一修理不成的善后解决办法。最终使用了这个公司的CIPP Lining技术修理了街上路面下的断裂。本来应该一至两天之内就可以完成,他们用了两天半。我估计他们的设备在忙别的项目,所以先派人周三下午开始挖坑,把项目拿住。周四继续挖坑,camera inspection, hydro jetting cleaning。周五,大干特干,最终在周五下午三点左右彻底完成。这个公司有个很大的Trailer,有很多设备来完成CIPP Lining的工作。我全程拍照录像,也算是满足了本人的好奇心。大概的流程:

4. 修理在上周五(12/02)刚刚完成,从camera检查的情况来看,基本满意。时间是检验真理的唯一标准。如果后续有新的惊奇的话,到时候在来分享。最坏的情况就是开挖了。走一步,看一步吧。
5. 经验教训:
1) After CIPP Lining, CIPP Liner比较容易被Snake破坏。万一有Clogging的话,有Liner的地方不建议使用Snake,唯一可用的就是Hydro Jetting。没有Liner的地方,可以用Snake,但是要注意不要延伸到有Liner的地方。
2) 做CIPP Lining有许多步骤,任何一个步骤出错,就可能需要返工。可能修理的状况不是最完美的。找有设备、有经验、有厂家认证的TF工非常重要。即使这样,也有可能出错,因为步骤太多,问题和现场状况也各异。
3) 除了CIPP Lining,根据问题情况,也许可以使用UV Light Tray 5 Feet Patch。据我使用的TF工讲,我的这个情况不可以使用,因为离Manhole太远。这个方案需要把Patch从最近的Manhole拉到断开的地方。这个报价:$4300。不是非常确定这个TF工的说法的可靠性。
