请教，租户的押金怎么存？

银行说，每户都要分开开一个ESCROW账号。

这样需要每个租户填写W9.感觉有点麻烦。

要是不分开，开个统一的账号，指明不要interest，是不是就可以了。

以前没有利息时，都无所谓！现在楼下徐速兄不是说了，一年利息已经是3以上近4%？2千一年也有几十块利息了。

我们这里州法说房东不需要付租客 interest, 银行也没什么规定。

You can open an account under their name for tax purpose..

...over the years since interest rate so low the tax is in pennys, but now the rate is up, it can be sizeable.  If get sued by a un-happy tenant, the attorney fee can just upset you.

加州不需要，我有十几年前搬入的房客，才300押金，走的时候还是300。

要看本州的法律。比如麻州规定押金必须放在专门的有利息的escrow账号，房客为beneficary，否则三倍押金罚款
