The world is
neither a void space that we claim and fill
nor an infinite time that runs forever
and guarantees a future
It is not a habitat
unless we take care
It is not a shelter
unless we care
It is not a boulder
that is irremovable and undeformable
A boulder can be moved and shaped
A mountain can sharply bend the waterway, yet
water can erode the mountain over time
making its own way
neither an object we handle
nor a subject we can dodge
It is
what we do and don't
what we are for and against
what we keep and alter
what we create and destroy
Really, it is
what we made it to be
