At the funeral service of late Queen Elizabeth, towards the end of the service,before the body was taken to the grave for burial,the archbishop said "Now let us remove all symbols of power from the coffin, so that our sister, Elizabeth can be committed to the grave as a simple Christian." Immediately, the staff of office was removed, then the scepter, the crown followed and all valuables were removed.
The Queen was buried with NOTHING. Notice that the Archbishop did not include "Queen"to her name at this point too.
Life is indeed vanity. It is transient, and that teaches us humility. Humility in power, humility in relating with others, humility in our acquisition of wealth, and humility in all our endeavors, because in the end, NO matter what we acquire in life we will all go back with NOTHING.
A sobering truth , our endeavor here on earth should be with grace.
Lyne 终于要退休了，时间是这个月底，她今年77。47岁的时候博士毕业，进入她这个行业所在的国家研究机构从博士后做起，整整三十年。按她自己的话说，她每天都觉得自己是在冰上跳芭蕾，了解她的人知道她说的一点不假。
我从读书的时候认识她，二十年下来，对她除了佩服，还有很多很多的尊敬。她比我父母还年长五岁，有着强烈好奇心的她。在准备退休准备了十几年之后，这个月底就是她真正退休的时候。
她上周去城里的医院申请了做义工，帮助那些不能讲英文的老人们做翻译，她准备一周去三天。已经做上的义工是去养老院帮忙，她现在每周末去一次。退休后她打算去两次。她还参加城里教会的活动，每个周日都去，风雨无阻。还远程连线参加多伦多的一个中文读经会，每周还有一个她以前生活过的地方的教会的团契。
老太太六十年代清华毕业的大学生，因为家庭出身，毕业就被发配到遥远偏僻的地方做生产线上的女工。她说她做居里夫人的梦想在做女工的十年里暗淡无光，结婚生了孩子。孩子七岁她老公因病走掉，独自一人带着女儿，她发现单亲妈妈的日子太难过了。她决定换个环境，考回清华读研究生。再后来，她发现自己的女儿被孤立歧视，于是她决定要出国。
这是为啥她47岁才博士毕业，她有着那一代人特有的韧劲和坚强勇敢，一步步，每一步都走得坚定无比。她做的几个方向都做得非常出色，拿到本行业里世界级的大奖。她的退休计划是她每一天都要出去，跟人面对面的交流聊天沟通。
她有过很多的挑战，挣扎和艰难时刻，在那些艰难的时刻，她在黑暗之中摸索，试图找到一条路，可以减轻精神压力和焦虑。除了身体锻炼，学习越野滑雪，找教练学游泳，花400$去上课学习如何种菜……
她开始寻找精神上的归依。从印度Guru的生活艺术开始，她迷了他们很多年，参加他们每年的灵修大会。去到山里，一群人住着，几天一句话也不说。土耳其的努米，可兰经，犹太五经，藏传佛教，世间能够找得到的经书，她都一一找来，细细品味。在她72岁的时候，她找到了救赎……
跟Lyne聊天说话，她是那个能量满满的家伙，但是她会说对病痛年老体衰的害怕，还有她面临的许许多多的问题。
去年，我家队友妈妈病危的时候，是她告诉我说，你们都不要哭，因为那是深信佛教的老人家的愿望。Lyne说你们要欢喜，安静，因为她在这世间的日子到了。你们哭哭啼啼会扰乱影响她的归程。我把这个信息转达给了队友家人，他妹妹点头如捣蒜，说妈妈是这么说的，于是大家突然安静下来，一切按照队友妈妈的愿望达成……
很幸运有这样的人在身边，我们聊天的话题宽广跳跃，很多时候非常出尘。也有很入世的时候，比如给她我育的各种菜苗，给她找handyman干院子里各种活。

我很服气她的，不管是专业还是别的方面，她的勇气无与伦比。搞设计要进CSA和ISO 的时候，她老板好大喜功，希望她能够稍稍放松一下计算参数，她跳起来坚决反对，对她老板说，我如果这么做了，你的孩子、我的孩子，他们的孩子都会为这付出代价。她老板哑口无言！非常有脊梁骨的人，所以能够赢得业界的认可和尊重，绝对不是偶然的。
你爸妈这么年轻啊! 那你是和胡花花同龄的小妹妹了
在葬礼的最后，大主教说，现在从棺材中去除所有权力的象征，...... 甚至连名字前面也不带Queen 字了。
