I am 65 and in Texas. I have enrolled in Medicare Part A, but Part B yet because I have my company’s health insurances. Part A is free. I was told by a Medicare professional that I will not be penalized if I am covered by a group medical insurance. In case I lost my company insurance, I can start Medicare Part B at that time. I would be fine if I can ensure no gap between them. But my company’s HR suggests me to start Part B now, and use Medicare A & B as the primary, and the company’s insurance as secondary. Medicare B is not free.
Why do I pay double coverage? Am I handling Medicare correctly?

Part B.
when you turn 65.
The penalty would last for your entire retirement life.
