和一和爪子的故事

Many years ago in graduate school, our department has a large group of Chinese graduate students. The department scheduled weekly graduate seminars for the graduate students to present their research progress and findings as well as to train their presentation skills.  A number of the Chinese students often used "more harder, more stronger, more larger, more ...," unintentionally in their oral presentations.  Sometimes, they even extended to "more more harder, ...".  Since we were not in English major, the professors would not bother to correct the students' English problems. Gradually, such erroneous English achieved its inverse effects to the others including American students and professors.  Some of them event began to speak the modified English. Recently I met a non-Chinese professor from another university who was a fellow graduate student at that time and found that he still speaks the modified English.

Good good study, day day up.
